FAQ

Is this the same thing as Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest is a traditional German festival held every year in the fall to celebrate the harvest. Mount Angel Oktoberfest spreads across the town through multiple entertainment venues and outdoor food chalets. Maifest is a celebration of spring with a German twist, held in the Mount Angel Community Festhalle. Beer from over a dozen local breweries, a diverse selection of food, world-class music, and 3 days of fun will all be under one roof.

Where do the profits from the festival go?

Similarly to Oktoberfest, profits will be distributed to local non-profit groups that help volunteer during the festival. Are you a member of or know a non-profit group interested in volunteering? Let us know!

Are Minors allowed?

Yes, minors are allowed during all hours of the festival.

Will there be camping?

We will not have dedicated camping spots as we do for Oktoberfest, as the fields we use for camping are too wet this time of year. Parking will be limited to what we have available in the Festhalle lot and nearby streets. If you’re looking for nearby camping, the Silver Spur in Silverton is recommended.

What are the hours of the festival?

  • Friday: 3pm - 11pm

  • Saturday: 11am - 11pm

  • Sunday: 11am - 6pm

Will there be activities for kids?

Yes! There will be a small kindergarten set up with face painting and balloon animals on Saturday and Sunday of the festival.

Will there be beverages available other than beer?

Of course! Local wine and cider will be available in addition to non-alcoholic options.

Are dogs allowed?
